Some Thoughts about Neighbors

Neighbor - the root meaning comes from an old word, the concept of someone who lives close by, near. I thought the etymology was German but my dictionary says old English. So someone who dwells near. But in the world of instant communication you can feel near someone who is by distance far away. One of the reasons I've not posted for while: I've been busy with other sites. I've recently joined an online author's site plus Facebook. And in the past week, old friends - old neighbors - seem to have become neighbors once again. Certainly, if we met at a restaurant I would have more to talk about, I would share more background, with my old, far-away, long-away neighbors than my actual close-dwelling neighbors.
